Through our Intellectual Property Tokens (IPTs), research outcomes are captured, protected, and governed by the community—transforming scientific discoveries into shareable, investable assets. This model not only drives innovation in areas like peptides, probiotics, and skin longevity but also ensures that breakthroughs address unmet medical needs and remain accessible to all.
Decentralized Trials
Decentralized trials contribute to real-world product validation by community-run, protocolized testing at scale. DermaDAO will use DeSci tools to pre-register blinded A/B skincare protocols on-chain, reward participants with $SKIN for time-stamped photo journals and surveys, and store user-owned data in privacy-preserving. Stratified analyses (by diagnosis, skin tone, age, etc.) and open dashboards will let anyone verify results, while governance votes will direct funding toward the most promising actives and formulations. This model shortens feedback loops, expands representation, and turns everyday use into reproducible evidence thereby accelerating skincare innovation from idea to validated product.

Funding for Research
DermaDAO provides funding for projects that address unmet medical needs in skin health. Researchers, startups, and labs can propose studies ranging from early-stage discovery to translational work with clear potential for impact in dermatology.
Funding is distributed through our DAO governance model: proposals are submitted, reviewed, and voted on by the community. Approved projects are financed from the DAO treasury, and outcomes are captured through Intellectual Property Tokens (IPTs)—ensuring that scientific value is shared, transparent, and reinvested back into both research and community growth.
